We are delighted to have been given access to a substantial collection of local photographs taken by photographer Ernest Storey.

Ernest has spent many years recording places and events in the area and over the coming months we will be adding some of his images to the website.

He remembers one event particularly, the fire that destroyed the Plaza in Tynemouth in 1996, go to the news page to see an image showing the scene as the fire was being extinguished. Look out for more of Ernest's photos soon.
